Description

James Parsons, Senior Attorney - Oliva Gibbs

James Parsons has over a decade of experience in the oil and gas industry, providing clients with assistance in such matters as due diligence, mineral property transactions, regulatory compliance, title examination, and litigation. These efforts have included both leading projects and aiding with work in the states of Texas, Ohio, North Dakota, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

For nearly two decades greenhouse gas reporting requirements have been a part of the regulatory landscape for domestic energy use, with 40 C.F.R. Part 98, Subpart W applying specifically to petroleum and natural gas facilities. However, how this methane emissions data is used, and what its collection means for the industry, has oscillated wildly over the years. For this talk we will take a look at the who, the what, and the why of Subpart W, including how it intersects with other regulatory initiatives, and the history of their use, in an effort to better understand implications for the future.
